2009-09-02

One 11-5 national key science and technology project: Risk zonation and management research of landslide in Wanzhou undertook by Professor Qiao Jianping accomplished the summary.

With the 11-5 national key science and technology project: Study on monitoring/warning system for geological disasters and Management Technology of Emergency Information, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences and Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment established demonstration zones in Baoji, Shanxi and Wanzhou, Chongqin separately.

National key science and technology project offers theoretical and technological support for landslide risk management. At the meantime, this project was applied to Wanzhou successfully. The project not only accomplished the study on warning system for landslide risk, but also developed new Warning System and Decision Support of Landslide Risk software. This software with a user-friendly interface is an intuitive and easy to operate. During the project, the panel had international cooperation with Tokyo University in Japan.

Geologic Hazard Estimation has been incorporated in Guide to Geologic Hazard Estimation.
