Experts were invited to give lectures at the seminar on such topics as laws, regulations, policies, monitoring and prevention systems for geological disasters in China.

Through heated discussion, the participants agreed to enhance the public’s awareness of disaster monitoring and prevention by popularizing scientific knowledge of secondary disasters in local areas, which may lay a solid foundation for potential cooperation between the Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of sciences (IMHE, CAS) and the local bodies of Dujiangyan city.

The seminar was co-held by IMHE, Chengdu Association for Science and Technology, and Dujiangyan Municipal People's Government of Sichuan Province.
