2013-05-03

The electric power of quake zone was damaged serious by Lushan earthquake. Aiming to insure the safety of disaster relief and electric power facilities reconstruction, invited by Sichuan Provincial Electric Power Corporation, IMHE expert Ma Dongtao went to the quake areas to investigate the potential site of secondary geo-hazard and damaged electric power facilities with electric power corporation staff from April 22 to 25, 2013.

The investigation lasted four days and covered over 1200 kilometers. They investigated the Jiulong-Shimian line and Ya’an-Shuzhou line (500 KV) which is the potential sites of geo-hazards including landslide, collapse, unstable rock, quake crack and power transmission towerbase  subsidence。Experts also surveyed the 24# tower、26# tower、36# tower、37# tower、91# tower、92# tower, and
Ya-lung River suspension bridge of the Jiulong-Shimian line, which were deformed by earthquake, as well as  ten potential geo-hazard sites of 67# tower、70# tower、71# tower and 76# tower of Ya’an-Shuzhou line.

Now, the investigation report and contingency plan are in preparation, which will offer scientific and technologically support to disaster relief and reconstruction work after quake.
