Under the IDRC/ICIMOD ‘Human Capacity Development of Afghan Universities’ poject, the first “Dryland Agriculture and NRM Technologies Extension” Afghanistan delegation, visited IMHE on May 30th 2009. Chinese Committee on ICIMOD (CNICIMOD) received the delegation. This project aims to enhance the performance of university and institutes in Afghanistan, in pursuit of the environmental and development needs of Afghanistan’s mountain communities in the reconstruction phase.

Afghanistan delegation visited Yanting Agro-ecological Experimental Station of Purple Soil, CAS, Sichuan Agricultural University, College of Architecture and Environment, Sichuan University, Sichuan Grassland Science Academy and Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, CAS. Prof. Deng Wei, Secretary General of CNICIMOD, Director of IMHE meets and took pictures with Afghanistan delegation.
