Prof. LI Changsheng Visits IMHE TEXT SIZE: A A A

Prof. LI Changsheng from the University of New Hampshire (US) paid a one-month visit to the Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of sciences (IMHE, CAS) from Dec. 6, 2010 to Jan. 7, 2011 to seek academic exchange and cooperative research.

 
 Prof.LI delivered an academic report in IMHE.
LI delivered an academic report on Modeling of Watershed C and N Biogeochemical Cycling and introduced the DNDC (DeNitrification and DeComposition) model as well as its application in simulating greenhouse emissions from animal husbandry and forecasting grain output and drought. While looking ahead to the future of the modeling of watershed C and N biogeochemical cycling, LI emphasized that the research priority should be given to watershed C cycling and management.

LI was associate professor and deputy director of the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences under CAS (1985-1987), and senior official of National Environmental Protection Agency of China (1988-1989). In 1992 he moved to the University of New Hampshire where he is now research professor in the Complex Systems Research Center within the Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans, and Space.
