Both sides believed that the two research bodies were not only complementary in the research of mountain vegetation and limnology, but also interoperable in disciplines distribution and research fields such as disaster prevention and global change, which gave rise to great potential of further cooperation in a comprehensive way.
The delegation also visited the Gongga alpine ecosystem observation and experiment station, CAS situated on the east slope of Mt. Gongga, the eastern edge of Qinghai-Tibet plateau.
KIGAM was established in 1918, and prolongated its central roles in comprehensive mineral exploration and energy development as the government supported research institute. It covers various fields of geological research in nationwide and overseas such as gas hydrate, mineral exploration, groundwater flow research, usage of underground space, and efficient utilization of national territory.
