Prof. Prietzel Joerg took field inspection in Gongga alpine ecosystem observation and experiment station situated on the east slope of Mt. Gongga, the eastern edge of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, knowing the changes of glaciers, lakes and marshes, vegetation distribution, and human activities taken place in this area recent years.
He delivered a report on recent anthropogenic changes of German forest soils and forest ecosystem and introduced the world’s pioneering research methods for biological geochemistry circulation. He also conducted exchanges with IMHE researchers on their latest research achievements on biological geochemistry circulation of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and sulphur located in mountain ecosystem.
Given the complementary research of the two research bodies, both sides voiced hope that more extensive cooperation should be carried out in project application, talents training and exchange, paper publishing, and facility sharing.
TUM is one of the leading universities in German. It has given rise to 20 Nobel Prize winners since its foundation.
