The field investigation was carried out in river basins of Bailong River, Min River, Tuojiang River, and Fujiang River, focusing on disaster evolution features, pre-warning technology as well as disaster prevention effect.
Headed by Prof. Hiroshi KAWABE, Niigata University, the delegation also inspected China-Japan joint monitoring site for debris flow in gangquanyan gully and had an in-depth discussion on its ongoing workings with IMHE staff.
The visit was within the framework of the joint research agreement on sediment disasters after earthquakes and its counter measures signed by IMHE and SABO in 2008.
