IMHE Launched Academic Exchange of the CAS/SAFEA International Partnership Program for Creative Research Teams TEXT SIZE: A A A

Recently, ‘Research on Mountain Surface Process and Environmental EffectIn The Upper Reach of Yangtze River’ undertaken by Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment,CAS(IMHE), which is one of the CAS/SAFEA International Partnership Program for Creative Research Teams , carried out the international exchanges and collaboration organized by Professor Wang Gengxu, two postgraduates named Christine Pötsch and Mari Jokerud from University of Bergen,Norway, came to IMHE to attend the academic exchange and preliminary basic work.

As one of important contents of international cooperation and exchange activities in mountain ecology to climate change, and according to the program plan regarding students exchanges and co-culturation, Christine Pötsch and Mari Jokerud respectively gave the presentations about‘ Resource Allocation in the selected Carex Species Along Climate Gradients’and ’The Impact of Nitrogen Deposition on Species Richness and Species Composition on omgroprophic mires in Western Norway’,more than 30 research fellows and postgraduates from environmental and ecology research department of IMHE and Chengdu Institute of Biology,CAS, were attracted to take part in this meeting. There were active academic exchanges and in-depth discussions among participants in the meeting, and a few opinions and suggestions for the scientific issues which attracted common concern in the same research field had been put forward.

Following the research arrangement, both sides of cooperation partners had jointly completed the first field investigation and set up the experimental plots along the different altitudes during 26th June to 7th July. , as well as target plants making and so on. All the works are a base for performing the next work in September.
