2013 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS 2013) was held in Melbourne, Australia from July 21–26, 2013.Prof.LI Ainong, Dr. JIN Huaan, ZHAO Wei from Digital Mountain and Remote Sensing Applications Center, Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, CAS attended the symposium.
GARSS 2013 focus on "Building a Sustainable Earth through Remote Sensing", which attracted nearly 2000 participants from 60 countries.IMHE delegation made posters to introduce recent progresses in leaf area index estimation in mountainous area and time series evapotranspiration estimation over South Asia in this conference, which received widespread attention from participants.

Prof. LI Ainong had in-depth talks on mountain remote sensing data processing with Prof. David L.B. Jupp from Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, CSIRO and Dr. Fuqin Li from Geoscience Bureau in Australia. Initial agreement was reached between the two sides on matters of cooperation related to remote sensing.
