Dr. Zeng Hongcheng, from University of Toronto, Canada, visited Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment (IMHE), CAS on January 2nd, 2014.
Digital Mountain and Remote Sensing Applications Center host a seminar, Prof. LI Ainong presided over this seminar. Dr. Zeng gave a lecture entitled “Disturbance of wind, earthquake and harvest to forest carbon storage”, and then entered a discussion.
Dr. Zeng used to learn in universities of Finland, USA and other countries. Now he is a post doctoral fellow of University of Toronto, Canada. His research focus on such fields as spatial modeling in ecology and environmental science, the wind disturbance in forest ecosystem, ecological and environmental appraisal, the optimization of ecological and environmental management and application of GIS and remote sensing in ecology and environmental science.
His study on “Widespread Amazon tree mortality from a single cross-basin squall line event” published in Science, PNAS.
More than 20 participants from Digital Mountain and Remote Sensing Applications Center attended the seminar.
