“Three volcanoes”, the achievement of NSFC-RFBR international Cooperation Project: Examination of key parameters for large-scale debris flows induced by earthquakes and volcanism: implications for hazard assessment (granted No. 41211120178) jointly hosted by Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment (IMHE), CAS and University of Moscow (UOM), became a finalist at the Russian national geography award "Crystal Compass", established by Russian Geographical Society.

A joint field trip, called “Three volcanoes” was organized by IMHE and UOM to examine the key parameters for large-scale debris flows induced by earthquakes and volcanism during 3rd to 23rd August, 2013, participants including: Prof. Sergey Chernomorets, Prof. Andrey Lukashov, Prof.Hu Kaiheng, Prof.LIU Jinfeng et al, in total 15 persons. The field trip mainly focused on three volcanoes-Klyochevshoy, Shiveluch, Koryaksky, to support the research on formation, characteristics of debris flows induced by volcanism.
The Crystal compass is national award on geographic, ecology, preservation and popularization of nature, historic and cultural heritage of Russia.
