Prof. Nigel Wright Visits JMS. (by IMHE) |
As an editorial member of JMS, Prof. Nigel Wright conducts reviews for manuscripts focused on fluid flow modeling, debris flow modeling etc.. During this visit, Prof. Nigel Wright had a warm discussion with the editors of JMS on how to solicit high quality papers, how to focus on hot topics to organize special issues and raise the international impact of the journal. He put forward some suggestions for improving manuscript quality. Language problems, he said, is a main obstacle for the non-English speaking authors when writing a scientific research paper. Language polishing is important before the manuscript is sent out for peer-review. He also attached great importance to organizing special issues which may induce high citations rates. Editors agree with him on the advantage of inviting international manuscripts of high quality especially manuscripts from European countries and USA. Prof. Nigel Wright suggests that in the future, inviting more excellent scientists from Europe and USA to join the editorial board will help to enhance the journal’s impact in the western countries.
