Introduction of the speaker:
Dr Q J Wang: a senior principal research scientist at CSIRO Land and Water Flagship, based in Melbourne, Australia. Dr Wang leads CSIRO’s research on improving water prediction and forecasting in Australia by integrating climate/weather, hydrological, mathematical and computational sciences. Forecasting systems developed by Dr Wang and his team have been successfully adopted by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology for national operational services. Dr Wang’s current research interests include flood and short-term river flow forecasting, flood inundation forecasting, and seasonal climate and stream flow forecasting.
