7–9 September 2015, Basel, Switzerland Conference ThemesThe 5th World Sustainability Forum aims to be a platform for researchers to present and engage with others on issues relating to sustainability in three thematic areas: - Science, Technology, and Energy
- Consumption, Lifestyles, Mobility, and Cities
- Economics, Business, and Management
We seek to contribute to policy-relevant, change-oriented, and transdisciplinary research and collaboration from science and technology, the life sciences, and the social sciences across these three thematic areas and covering the following sustainability dimensions:

Panel 9 | Confirmed Keynote SpeakersTwo important figures of the UN SDGs have already agreed to give keynote lectures: - Prof. Jeffrey D. Sachs, Director of the Earth Institute and Special Advisor on the Millennium Development Goals to United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
- Prof. Klaus Leisinger, Special Advisor on business ethics to the Global Compact of the United Nations and on the post-2015 development policy.
How to Contribute?Registration:Registration information can be found on Sciforum.net. If you have questions or need assistance, please email the Conference Secretariat. Registration fees are listed on Sciforum.net . Panel Proposals - Submit a 300 word abstract in English on the focus and purpose of your panel.
- Indicate at least two paper presenters who will participate in your panel.
- Indicate which panel would be your first and second choice, referring to the table above (Panel 1 to Panel 9).
- Add your name, institutional affiliation, phone number, and email address.
- Submit the panel proposal not later than 15 February 2015 to wsf5@mdpi.com. You will be notified by 1 March 2015.
Paper Proposals - Create an account on Sciforum.net and follow the procedure to "Submit a New Abstract" in your User Home
- Indicate which thematic area is best suited for your paper (Science, Technology, and Energy; Consumption, Lifestyles, Mobility, and Cities; Economics, Business, and Management)
- Submit a 300 word abstract in English, including the focus and contribution to sustainability. If it is an empirical paper, include information about the data and data analysis, as well as the most relevant findings.

- Submit a 200 world abstract in English, including the focus and contribution to sustainability. If it is an empirical poster, include information about the data and data analysis, as well as the most relevant findings.
- Submit the poster proposal not later than 15 February 2015. You will be notified by 1 March 2015.
Publication Opportunities - Special issue relating to this conference in the journal Sustainability.
Sustainability is indexed by the Science Citation Index Expanded and the Social Sciences Citation Index (Web of Science) and has an Impact Factor of 1.077 (Journal Citations Reports, 2013). - Three edited books, one for each of the three thematic areas, of a new book series entitled Frontiers in Sustainability. A DOI number will be registered for each paper published in the edited books.
- All Panel abstracts, paper abstracts, posters and presentations will be available online in Open Access on Sciforum.net.
