An Assessment Meeting on Key Project of National Key Technology R&D Program “Experiment and Demonstration of Management of Slope Land and Efficient Eco-agriculture in Upper Yangtze River” was held in Chongqing on November 1st-2nd, 2009. 

Professor DENG Wei, director of IMHE, pointed out the assessment meeting was very important for the next work.

Mr. WANG Xueqin from the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China (MOST) and Mr. LU Shengli from the Ministry of Water Resource of the People’s Republic of China (MWR) said in their speech that this project is a long-term, strategic task that benefits the nation and the people. The achievements will lay a good foundation for further construction in the Yangtze River.

Experts from different institutions made presentations on research progress in the meeting.

This project was reviewed by the evaluation expert team and passed mid-term evaluation finally.

The evaluation expert team was composed of Professor TIAN Junliang from Water Conservation Institute, CAS, Mr. NING Duihu, vice-director of International Research Center on Erosion and Sedimentation, and experts from Chongqing Municipal Research Institute of Environmental Protection and Southwest University.
