2010 Annual Meeting of UNEP/GEF Project “Nature Conservation and Flood Control in the Yangtze River Basin” was held in Chengdu Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment (IMHE), CAS on March 19th, 2010.

Project Manager A Yan from Ministry of Environmental Protection of China (MEP) gave a report on the goal and progress of GEF project in the meeting. Chief Scientist WANG Yukuan gave a detailed presentation on research progress since the project was launched in May, 2006. By now, the anticipant goal of this project has been achieved, including key eco-system function evaluation work and ecological function protection area zoning in upper Yangtze River. Participants communicated with each other and discussed about the next work.

Around 20 participants from MEP and Sichuan Normal University, et al attended this meeting. 

MEP highly approved the research progress and encouraged the project team keeps moving ahead and strive for greater achievements.
