The Alpine Ecosystem Observation and Experiment Station of Gongga Mt. (Gongga Mt. Station) developed research on suitable ecological region for Olea europaea in Sichuan Province, and the relationship between the fruit oil content, fatty acid composition of introduced varieties of Olea europaea and environmental factors. After research, Gongga Mt. Station determined the adaptive region for Olea europaea in Sichuan Province and screened 32 superior varieties of Olea europaea in different regions. Moreover, Gongga Mt. Station developed a mixed cropping technique for suitable varieties of Olea europaea and the pollination trees assignment method of main cultivars, which improved the fruiting rate up to 90 percent.

The research in Gongga Mt. Station has important practical significance and economic benefit for the industrialization development of Olea europaea in Sichuan Province.
