Prof. Vigdis Vandvik, and Prof. Kari Klanderud, from University of Bergen, Norway, visited the Alpine Ecosystem Observation and Experiment Station of Mt. Gongga (Gongga Mt. Station) from Sep.10th to 13th, 2010, accompanied by Prof. WANG Genxu and Prof. LUO Ji from Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, CAS (IMHE).

Norwegian Scientists Visits Gongga Mt. Station
Prof. Vigdis and Prof. Kari visited the basis facilities and the field experiment sites about the climate change effect on moss, litter and seed germination, and the early stage of dominant species and the diversity of primary succession of vegetation responses to climate change in Glacier region. The delegation also visited the alpine meadow vegetation in YAJIAGENG.

The research on the effect of climate change on different vegetation types along the vertical vegetation spectrum attracted Norwegian scientists. They think the relative studies provide a good base for the research in high latitude and high altitude area. At last, Norwegian scientists discussed the relative collaboration project with IMHE experts. They reached a brief framework for the next collaboration.
