The Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMHE, CAS) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba (CITMA) signed an agreement on October 21, 2010 to strengthen collaboration in disaster reduction.
The agreement covers joint research on a range of topics including evaluation, prediction and early-warning of various disasters, which will be carried out by IMHE and theaffiliated bodies of CITMA including National Centre for Sysmological Research and Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa Mountain Office of Cuba.
IMHE and CITMA signed an agreement.
This agreement initiates a new phase of IMHE-CITMA cooperation which began in 2006 when a Cuban delegation paid a visit to IMHE and was strengthened through scholar-exchange supported by CAS-TWAS Fellowships Program.
