The 3rd Joint Academic Annual Conference co-organized by Key Laboratory of Mountain Hazards and Earth Surface Processes, Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment under Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMHE, CAS) and the State Key Laboratory of Geological Hazards Prevention and Engineering Geological Environment Protection under Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) was held in CDUT on Jan. 10, 2011.
Focusing on such topics as measuring method of debris flow velocity, mechanism research of debris flow, relation between particle size and average speed of debris flow, and slope stability limit analysis method, the conference attracted more than 100 participants who conducted in-depth discussion in related topics.

Researcher CUI Peng from IMHE confirmed the work and contribution of both key laboratories and expressed hope that the two sides would carry out more similar activities to further cooperation and promote the development of disaster research.
