The Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMHE, CAS) and Xinjiang Traffic Science Institute (XTSI) signed a scientific cooperation agreement at the Sixth CAS-Xinjiang Branch National Hi-tech Fair opened in Changji, Xinjiang province on August 24, 2011.

 
 IMHE and XTSI signed a scientific cooperation agreement.
According to the agreement, the two sides will join hands to carry out comprehensive management and technology R&D of monitoring and pre-warning on geological disasters along highways in Xinjiang province.

The main contents of the agreement include theoretical research of geological disasters, R&D of monitoring and pre-warning technology, construction of project demonstration sites, personnel exchange and training, data sharing and scientific platform co-building. 

Both sides expressed hope to deepen their scientific cooperation and provide scientific support for high-speed construction of highways in Xinjiang province.
