An evaluation and inspection team, consisted of 18 experts, guided by vice director Chang Xu from Bureau of Science and Technology for Resources and Environment and team leader Prof. Ma Fuchen, former vice director from NNSF, made an one-day scene evaluation for Key Laboratory of Mountain Hazards and Land Surface Processes, CAS on 11th June,2009.
In the morning, Cui Peng,researcher and lab director,made a presentation about lab introduction to the inspection team in detail, presenting direction, function and achievements of lab construction, as well as human resource construction, facilities, management and future plan, etc. Presentations were also given by researcher Li Yong, vice researcher Chen Xiaoqing, researcher You Yong, researcher Qiao Jianping and researcher Zhang Hui of the lab.
In the afternoon, the evaluation team visited and inspected the lab on experimental conditions, operational situation and support, thoroughly enquired lab achievements and contributions to China’s disaster prevention.
Key Laboratory of Mountain Hazards and Land Surface Processes, CAS was established in March, 2005, approved by CAS, supported by IMHE, mainly for basic application researches on debris flow, landslide and soil erosion in mountain area of Upper Yangtze River and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
With the hard work of all the staff, the evaluation work proceeded successfully and finally achieved expecting results.
